And so another year draws to a close…
2015 has been a jam-packed year for the team at Tamsin Hodgson Physiotherapy.

Here is a little recap to round things up:

Tamsin – Graduated from her 2014 AIM programme at the GSB (UCT) with distinction. Not only did she tie the knot but she also welcomed a little girl into the world. She has returned to work on a part time basis to allow her to adjust to her new role as a mom. She now has a much better understanding when it comes to treating moms-to-be and new parents, parenthood is not for sissies!

Nicky – Joined us as a part time Physio in April and we are so pleased that she has been able to take on a full-time position at the practice. She has just graduated from SPT1, which is a diploma in the management of sports injuries. Due to her own love of exercise and her belief in holistic rehabilitation of a patient she has decided to pursue the path of becoming a Pilates instructor.

Jayne – Joined us in September on a part-time basis. She helps cover the hours that Tamsin is out of the practice. Jayne is an avid cyclist, a certified triathlon coach and is also undergoing her training to become a Pilates instructor. Like Tamsin she has completed a diploma in Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy (OMT).

All 3 Physios at the practice share in the belief that finding the cause of the symptom is far more important than just treating source of the pain. So regardless of which Physio you see, you are guaranteed to get: a thorough assessment, a detailed explanation, a rigorous hands-on treatment and of course some exercises to do at home. For those of you who are better at performing your exercises in a supervised environment, please take a look at the Gyrokinesis and Pilates classes that we offer (details are on the website). They are a great way to get moving safely and to stay in shape.

As always thank you for supporting us; we are honoured that you have chosen our practice to assist you in obtaining your physical goals, whether it be walking without crutches or running Comrades!

Just a reminder that the last day the practice will be open is the 23rd of December and we will reopen on the 4th of January 2016.

Wishing you and your family a healthy and happy Festive Season!
